With an engineering background, he has worked across research, product development, and technical marketing for roofing and cladding systems. He has contributed to British and European standards, led industry task groups, and continues to provide technical consultancy and sector leadership, particularly as Director of the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA).
Barry Jackson: Having worked in the roofing and cladding industry since 1968, Barry has gained extensive experience across technical, commercial, and practical roles. His career spans major manufacturers, contractors, and consultancy, with international expertise developed across Europe. Barry is a ex-Chairman of The Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA) and having completed NVQ Assessor Training, Barry now supports the MCRMA as part of the training team.
Simon Cooper: With over four decades of experience in the roofing and cladding industry, Simon specialises in fastening technology and system design. He has held senior technical and directorial roles with leading manufacturers and now works as an independent consultant. Simon has been involved with the BSI Committee, as well as supporting the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA) as a Director until 2025.
Kate Whatley: Kate is a highly respected leader in the roofing industry with over 20 years’ experience in senior management, commercial delivery, and operational leadership. Beyond project success, she has made a lasting impact through championing skills, inclusion, and professional standards. A passionate advocate for education and opportunity, she has founded and supported industry initiatives, training programmes, and outreach with schools, helping to open pathways, develop talent, and create a more inclusive, professional future for roofing and construction.
Ben Letham: Ben brings a wealth of experience in the roofing and cladding industry, working across commercial and industrial sectors. His role has spanned business leadership and technical delivery, supported by active involvement in industry committees, where he contributes to health, safety, and technical standards within the roofing and construction sector.
